THIEL PowerPoint 1.2 High Performance Surround On-Wall/On-Ceiling Loudspeaker (Front/Center, Single) Overview

The PowerPoint 1.2 is a high performance surface-mount loudspeaker designed to achieve both optimized sound and a discreet appearance in almost any environment. The PowerPoint 1.2 can be placed on ceilings or walls, and used as front, center, rear, or side channels for very accurate and realistic sound reproduction in home video and music systems. The PowerPoint 1.2’s state-of-the-art coaxial/coplanar drivers, teardrop shaped enclosure, and 90 degree radiation pattern enables the sound to cover the room far more completely than traditional, more directional surface-mount or in-wall speakers. The PowerPoint 1.2’s carefully engineered aluminum enclosure prevents harmful vibrations and reflective waves from marring the true sonic picture. It is paintable to match almost any decor. All THIEL designed, advanced engineered drivers. The PowerPoint a very low distortion, short coil/long gap, high output, metal diaphragm 6.5-Inch woofer that is coaxially mounted with a 1-Inch, high output, low distortion metal dome tweeter. The coaxial driver mounting delivers more realistic sound because the sounds from the individual drivers reach your ear at the same time, regardless of speaker placement or listening position. As with all THIEL loudspeakers, the PowerPoint 1.2 utilizes a synthesized first-order crossover system to eliminate phase distortion. Specifications include a frequency response of ±3 dB from 75 Hz to 20 kHz, a sensitivity of 89 dB at 2.8 V-1m, phase response within ±10degree of minimum, and a 4 ohm nominal impedance. Horizontally oriented, the PowerPoint 1.2’s cabinet dimensions are 21-Inch wide, 6.5-Inch deep, and 12-Inch high, weighing 16 lbs.

Secret Sauce

THIEL specially designed the very high output and accurate Power Driver coaxially mounted woofer/tweeter system specifically for the PowerPoint 1.2. Based upon the premise that a loudspeaker's frequency response becomes uneven and unnatural due to reflections from a nearby wall or ceiling, THIEL's revolutionary PowerPoint 1.2 solves this coloration problem by situating the Power Driver so close to the mounting surface that the affected frequencies are too high to cause harmful, audible reflections.

Wide Dispersion

A critical part of the PowerPoint 1.2 design is that the "coax" resides at a 45° angle to the mounting surface, allowing the ultra-wide dispersion Power Driver to cover all listening positions directly beneath and in front of the speaker. This characteristic is what makes the PowerPoint 1.2 such a natural choice for solving common placement problems. As an example, if the primary seating position in a home theater is a sofa against the back wall, PowerPoint 1.2s can be mounted on the rear wall on either side of the sofa pointing downwards towards seated listeners, or they can be mounted sideways facing each other. In rooms with asymmetrical walls relative to the seating position, PowerPoints can be mounted on the ceiling. Placement flexibility affords you the freedom to mount your PowerPoints where they look the best in each room. The THIEL PowerPoint 1.2 is a truly versatile solution for those who want superb audio without large footprint floor-standing loudspeakers intruding on their décor.

THIEL-Designed Drivers

The PowerPoint uses newly designed, very low distortion, short coil/long gap, high output, metal diaphragm 6.5-inch woofers that are coaxially mounted with a new 1-inch, high output, low distortion metal dome tweeter (the same tweeter used in flagship models like the CS7.2). The coaxial driver mounting delivers more realistic sound because the sounds from the individual drivers reach your ear at the same time, regardless of speaker placement or listening position. As with all THIEL loudspeakers, the new models utilize a synthesized first-order crossover system to eliminate phase distortion.

Customize your System

The PowerPoint 1.2 is a highly distinctive member of THIEL's architectural family of speakers, but it will also integrate sonically with any other THIEL loudspeaker or subwoofer. The PowerPoint's aluminum enclosure can be custom painted to match décor. All THIEL speakers are warranted for 10 years and are backed by world-class customer service and support.
